Missing Headlines: Stories of Life in Palestine | $15

By Emily Schick
“A few months ago, I wouldn’t have noticed this information missing from the article… Ahmad’s death kept me awake for days. I was haunted by the disappearance of his story.”
From the first of February to the first of July 2010, Emily Schick worked as an activist with the International Solidarity Movement. Her stories from East Jerusalem and the West Bank show not only the reality of life in Palestine, but the conspicuous silences of American media. The Palestinian struggle is brought into an understandable and tangible context through a series of essays on her work as ISM’s media coordinator, life on the street with evicted Palestinian families, and being shot at a nonviolent demonstration. What’s missing from the headlines? It’s time to find out…
